Congratulations Leslie as a Finalist in the 2012 FAME Team

Leslie has just been informed that he is in the top 10 Australian Hairdressers to make it to the finals in the 2012 FAME Team as part of the Australian Hairdressers Journal.  The top 4 winners will represent Australia in the United Kingdom later this year and over 2013, and will participate on runways with top designers and hairdressers from around the world.  This is an amazing achievement and one that Leslie and Bond Hair Religion are extremely proud of.  Leslie now has to produce a two minute DVD in future styling and colour work as part of his next phase in the finals.  This will be judged and voted on by leading industry figures in Australia and the United Kingdom.   Well done Leslie and you can view his work and entry below.

Thin, Thinning or Flat Hair?

After many years of hairdressing it is becoming increasingly obvious that not only is thinning hair a male problem but also a female one.  One in two people are suffering with this problem.  In fact even at Bond, half the staff have this condition.  So as a salon and business that cares about our clients, we have decided to purchase and stock the Nioxin Hair System.  The Nioxin product range is purely for clients that are experiencing hair loss, thinning or just a lack of body associated with scalp conditions.  Bond Hair Religion is holding an information and demonstration evening on Wednesday 11 July 2012 at 6.30PM.  If you would like to attend and receive further information whilst also enjoying a glass of wine or champagne just give us a call and we will reserve your spot.  Also if you wish to bring a family member or friend please let us know.   We hope you are able to come along to this important evening.

Interview with Bec

Recently we interviewed one of our senior stylists Bec about hairdressing and her goals and aspirations.  Here it is.

Bond:  Why did you choose Hairdressing as a career?
Bec:  "I could not imagine doing anything else!! I love my job and everything that comes with it.  Every day is different than the one before and I am constantly being given new challenges.  I love the artistic freedom you have with hair and the unlimited possibilities to create something amazing".

Bond:  What is your favourite moment in hairdressing?
Bec:  "I can honestly say there are to many amazing moments this career has given me to just pick one, but I think on the top of the list would have to be working at this year's Australian fashion week in Sydney.  That was definitely one of my most favourite moments".

Bond:  What are your goals and aspirations, not necessarily in hairdressing?
Bec:  "Travelling!!!  Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to travel and see the world.  I think it would be a beautiful thing to see what else the world has to offer and to experience all the different cultures".

Bond:  What is your favourite part of hairdressing?
Bec:  "My favourite part of hairdressing would be having that opportunity to turn someones day from bad to good, sad to happy or insecure to confident.  Just seeing a smile on someones face and knowing it is there because of something that I have created gives me so much joy!!  To some people it may just be another hair cut but to that person it can be much much more".
