No Luck at Hair Expo

This year Leslie entered the category of new creative force at this years Hair Expo awards. Last night Leslie and Jen went to Sydney for the finalist night and unfortunately did not come home with any glory.  Although Leslie's entry this year was amazing we all wish him better luck next time. The Importance of Professional Products for Professional Colour

As hairdressers we are constantly struggling to inform our clients of the importance of a good in home hair care range. Many clients think that stylists are out to meet targets or push retail onto them.  At Bond what we actually want is the best hair for you. At Bond we don't want our clients spending $200.00 on a colour to go home and use a supermarket shampoo that sees you washing your $200.00 down the drain.

Supermarket brand shampoos are normally owned by super companies such as Unilever etc. These companies also also make soap and body gel and use the same base as soaps in their shampoos. Because the cleanser in the shampoos is so harsh they actually penetrate the hair surface washing out the colour molecules. Additionally, supermarket brand shampoos are normally packed with silicone.  What silicone does is put a coating on the hair making it feel smooth and shiny but only giving a cosmetic finish. The bad thing about this is that the silicone doesn't wash off leaving a coating on the hair, so when you next have a colour the colour sits on this layer of silicone and slips off leaving you with a dull lifeless colour.

Professional brand shampoo is more expensive than supermarket brands but the benefits far out weight the cost. The reason professional products cost so much is because what's in the shampoo is years of research and the best ingredients to make an amazing shampoo for you that does what it says. Professional brands survive on repeat business so results are what drives these companies and allows them to build their brand.   They are in constant competition with many other brands to out-perform each other so you know you are getting the best!  Do your hair and wallet a favour and switch to a professional brand and have your colour looking vibrant for longer.
