On the weekend Bond Hair Religion went to Brisbane for the Hotshots Competition in which our senior stylist Leslie was nominated. Leslie unfortunately didn't leave with the winners trophy this year but he did leave with two shiny finalist trophies. This competition is a national competition and is extremely difficult, so congratulations to Leslie for getting this far and we wish him better luck next year.
Hair Biz Forum
In conjunction with the Hotshots awards, Mocha Publishing also delivered the HairBiz Forum. The event saw some amazing talent including motivational speakers Peter Thurin and Julie Piantadosi, hairdressing talent from the Hotshots team, session stylist extraordinaire Lores Giglo, and the UK team Hooker and Young. The motivational speakers uplifted us and showed us how we can head toward our goals and conquer our obstacles. Leslie even went up on stage and conquered his obstacles literally in a form of a wooden board that he broke. The hairdressing teams were very inspiring and each brought their own flavour to the stage. Lores showed us how to style for editorials and magazines teaching us to think outside of the box when it comes to creative styling. The Hotshots team brought a young fresh flavour to the stage showing off their interpretation of trends that are on the way. The Hooker and Young team inspired us with their amazing work and attention to detail. It was great seeing what's going on in Europe and we saw things that we could definitely use in the salon.
