In further updates, Margaret - an intrinsic part of the Bond team for many years - recently popped into the salon for an update of her post-retirement adventures. Margaret has nearly finished her travels around Australia, and plans to settle down for awhile before taking on Europe!
Bond is very excited to announce that two of our fabulous senior stylists, Leslie and Bec, have been selected to style hair this week at Sydney's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for some of Australia's most popular designers. We're very excited for them to show off their talent!
Our lovely second-year apprentice Sam has recently returned to Bond! Sam began here in 2009 before moving to Queensland. Back and better than ever, we took the chance to interview Sam about being an apprentice in the industry.
Bond: So, why hairdressing?
Sam: I like fashion and variety and didn't want to just be sitting at a computer! I've always loved doing hair.
B: What's your favourite part of being an apprentice at Bond? Are you enjoying being back?
S: I like being able to learn and to use my creativity. I feel much more confident and love being back, it feels like I never left!
B: What are your thoughts on the new look Bond Hair Religion?
S: It feels a lot more open and functional, the team has changed as well for the better.
B: What do you want to achieve in the next few years?
S: I hope I can become a great hairdresser and have a good clientele. And I'd love to do hair for the fashion industry!
Trends from fashion week
At fashion week so far Bec and Leslie were involved in the Alice McCall and Manning Cartell shows, these saw the use of pinned up twists and braids, our prediction is that this may be the new thing in wearable styling so keep your eye out for these easy to do styles.
