We are excited to announce that we have started implementing some business and environmental changes for the better. Procedures introduced into the salon includes foil recycling, environmental disposal of colour and a new business procedures manual to name a few with more improvements on the way.

Help from the Underground

Help from the underground was a great success. Hundreds of people from all over Canberra flocked to see the show and donate to a worthy charity. The event, held in the basement of ZOO advertising, gave the evening a very industrial, high fashion feel. The outfits, made from opshop clothes were brilliantly put together to make some stunning eclectic outfits. For the hair there was no brief and that saw hairdressers backstage come up with some amazing creations. All in all it was an amazing event supporting the St Vincent De Paul Society.

Satisfaction Survey

You may or may not have noticed or come across it yet, but there is now a mini iPad that sits at the front desk. Bond is asking our clients the question "how do you feel about your experiance" at Bond so we can gain insight too what you, the client, think about your experience with each of the staff so we can make improvements for you. It only takes a couple of seconds and will help us identify areas that may need improvement. Thanks in advance for helping us make your experience the best that we can.

Our Hair Expo Extravaganza

On the weekend a few of our team attended the ever inspiring Hair Expo in Sydney. Here's what they got up to:

Saturday:

On Saturday our Creative Director Leslie was invited to the Wella Studios in Surrey Hills to style 3 models who were entertaining the guests at the amazing Saturday Night Gala event. He then attended the Gala which showcased work from last year's Hairdresser of the Year, Joey Scandizzo, and the team at Toni and Guy Australia who were celebrating their 50 year anniversary. Joey's show featured a very strong tribal feel with men with ponytails and the girls with big feathered headpieces. The show then took a turning point and went colourful.  The girls donned colourful wigs and some coloured chalk was splashed around the stage making for a very vibrant show. Toni and Guy's show re-visited collections from Toni and Guy's 50 years in hairdressing from striking looks of the 60's to textured messy looks of the 00's. It was an amazing show with some great showmanship.

Sunday:

On the Sunday Leslie was up bright and early to assist an amazing hairdressing team from Melbourne, Rokk Ebony. Their collection featured bright and interesting colours, drawing their inspiration from each of the seasons. Winter saw cool icy tones, Autumn saw warm rich colours and flowy styles, Summer saw golds and reds and Spring saw pinks and mahogany's.  Meanwhile the rest off the team went to former Hairdresser of the Year winner Jayne Wilde's, amazing seminar. The seminar featured some eclectic looks that the members of Wildlife Hair Team adopt in their photographic work. The team was also able to attend a range of trade stalls during the show to look at the latest in hairdressing technology and equipment.  The team then attended the Sunday Night Gen Next Gala, featuring work from the next generation of hairdressers including students from the Pivot Point Academy, The Gen Next Team and many more.

Monday:

Leslie was up early again helping the amazing Lorna Evans from Lorna Evans Education on her seminar. Lorna's newest collection features some amazing looks that highlight different textures and strong shapes. Leslie learnt to work with hair pieces and extensions to create different and more extreme looks. Then he attended the Hair Expo where Frank Apostolopous was crowned hairdresser of the year and Lisa Muscat was crowned New Creative Force. Congratulations to these two amazing hairdressers.

Tuesday:

On the final day Leslie spent the day with Edward Daley and Mark Hayes of Sassoon Academy from London. The day was an intimate insight into their work.  The group was shown different looks from their latest collections and then got to practice those methods on models. The day Leslie says was " inspirational and has changed the way he cuts". Well worth it.

New Consultation Method

On Monday the Team @ Bond undertook the first of a series of training sessions with TIGI. We are learning a new method of consultation that focuses on identifying people's skin and eye colour to come up with the perfect colour to suit. So if your interested in having a change talk to your stylist when you are next in the salon!

Next Wednesday night Kingston will play host to "help from the underground", a charity fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul that showcases used outfits that have been revamped. This year Bond has been invited to help with the hair for the event which we are very excited about. If you want to help this great cause go to www.helpfromtheunderground.com.au to RSVP for tickets.
