Bond New Specialised Hair Extensions Consultant

Bond is happy to announce that our very own Bec, although leaving full-time hairdressing to take up a new vocation, will return to Bond to be our very own casual hair extensions consultant. She will be available a few nights a week to specifically fit and move up your new hair extensions. Over her time here at Bond, Bec's extension work has been immaculate so we are very pleased that she has agreed to stay on to look after all our new and existing hair extension clients.  Should you require any hair extension work please call the salon to make your appointment to see Bec.

More Training and Development for the Bond Team

In the coming months two of our talented staff at Bond Hair Religion will be undertaking some excellent training outside the salon in areas such as education and upstyling. Leslie will be completing a two day course under hair education extraordinaire Tracy Hughes. Specifically, he will learn tricks and tips on how to train hairdressers including presentation skills which will be highly valuable to the Bond team. Leah will also be partaking in training on the latest fashion in hair up techniques with Creative Director Sam Overton.

Jen and Leslie's Competitions

In the coming months Jenni and Leslie will enter the Wella Trendvision competition. Their task will be to reinterpret a specific trend released by Wella in their own way. If successful, they will be flown to the finals in New York. Good luck!
You can't keep a good creative man down... on the weekend Leslie filmed two entry videos for the global.synergy and FAME Team competition. Winning either or both competitions will see Leslie jet setting to London and beyond to represent Australian hairdressing. What an amazing opportunity!  Good luck Leslie from all of us.

How To Keep Your Hair Shiny and Healthy

In winter our hair is exposed to dry conditions and artificial heating leaving hair dull and lifeless. However you can keep your hair looking gorgeous and shiny all year round with these tips:

1. Do regular treatments once a week - we recommend SP Masque for optimal results
2. Use shine/moisture enhancing shampoo - w recommend Hydre or SP shine define shampoo
3. Try to minimise use of heating tools or use a heat protect spray - we recommend GHD Heat Protect Spray
4.  If you use supermarket shampoo and conditioner, we strongly encourage you to reconsider because they use silicones which are very bad for your hair.
5. Use a spray shine product to enhance shine for that extra lift - we recommend GHD Final Shine.

Going Well So Far

So far Jenni has raised an amazing $1,725.00 for the Kokoda Trek fundraiser for Bravehearts but she needs more and more donations to reach her goal of $10,000.00.  As you can imagine Kokoda is not a feat that can be taken lightly.  It's 8-9 days of no showers, hard trekking, no good food, sleeping in a swag and humid 30 degree temperatures. So please get behind Jen and help her raise these much needed funds for this amazing charity.

Big Farewell to Bec

Bond is very sad to announce that our bubbly energetic stylist Bec is leaving the salon to move with her partner to Sydney. We wish Bec all the luck in the world and with all her new adventures. If you are one of Bec's clients and haven't yet talked to her about who she recommends to take over your hair, please don't hesitate to contact the salon and have a chat to Bec.

New GHD Air - Jewel Collection

GHD have released a beautiful new blow-dryer as part of the Jewel collection. Its the same amazing blow-dryer with a new shiny look. It features a new shiny panel of a brilliant purple for something a little different.  The new GHD Air also comes with a splash of green, blue or contrasting black.

Jen does Kokoda for the Kids

In September Jenni is walking the Kokoda Trek to help raise funds for Bravehearts.  Bravehearts is a major Australian charity that offers support and counselling to victims of child sexual abuse.  They also help to empower, educate and protect Australians about child sexual abuse.  Even just talking about this subject helps to prevent it.  You can support Jen and Bravehearts through a charitable donation by clicking on the following link:   Alternatively, when you are next in the salon you can donate either electronically or by way of a cash donation.  Jen is hoping to raise $10,000 for Bravehearts and all help is greatly appreciated.

B: What's your favourite part of hairdressing?

M: Colour for sure. I absolutely love colouring.

B: Favourite moment?

M: I loved helping out at FashFest and colour consultation training with TIGI.

B: What are some of your aspirations?

M: I'd love to become a colourist and do lots of bright colours on anyone who will let me.
