The Countdown is On!

It's now just over a week until the team at Bond embark on their journey to Phuket for our annual team building week. Team building will see us all learning great new skills like communication, emotional intelligence and working better together as a team and much more. Other than team building we will also be soaking up the rays and recharging the batteries to be ready for the rest of the year.  Just prior to our departure we are opening the salon for a few extra nights to accommodate all our clients.  Please call as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  Our opening hours for 7th - 9th May will be :

Tuesday 7th: 9.00AM - 8.00PM
Wednesday 8th: 9AM - 8.00PM
Thursday 9th: 9.00AM- 8.00PM
Friday & Saturday: Normal Hours

We will be closed from the 14th - 18th May inclusive. We also are looking forward to telling all our clients about it!

Wella's Colour Innovation Perfecton

Wella has a new range of colour called Perfecton. Perfecton is similar to the old rinses that the blue rinse brigade use to have but is much much cooler. Bond is now a Member of the Austalian Hairdressing Council

The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) is a body that represents the Australian hairdressing industry making sure that training, products and other areas of the industry are appropriately regulated and at a high standard. They also provide salons with a "salon select" accreditation.

To achieve Silver Salon Select accreditation, the salon must have a professional standard of presentation, client service, employee administration and basic marketing. To acheieve this standard you have to be amongst the best in the industry and be of a very high standard. Bond will be undertaking the selection process in the coming months.

Our High Fashion Shoot in Sydney

On the weekend Leslie was invited to Sydney to do a beauty editorial shoot with fashion photographer Jack Grayson. The shoot is due to be published in some fashion magazines both in Sydney and nationally. Leslie also got to work with makeup extraordanaire Jolina O'hair and we will post photos as they come in. Bond at Salon Melbourne

On the weekend Bond's Creative Director Leslie went to Salon Melbourne to assist hair education icon Lorna Evans. He assisted on prepping models for both her on stage education as well as her seminar. The show and seminar showcased some amazing and different up-styles that are shown in her books and DVDs. Leslie said " he learnt a lot and is looking forward to working with Lorna again at Hair Expo this year.

FashFest

Bond are proud to announce that we will be a part of the hair team at Canberra's premium fashion event, FashFest, to be held at Brindabella Park near the Canberra airport. The show will see collections from many Canberra and national designers in all forms of fashion. Autumn Hair Trends

This autumn we are seeing auburns, mahogany and soft golds making up our hair colour pallet. We are moving away from solid block colours and are switching to soft natural looking colours.  With cutting and styling we are seeing strong classic cuts such as under-cut bobs and cuts with strong shape. Bond @ Fashion Week

On Monday our Creative Director Leslie Henshaw went to Sydney to assist Renya Xydis on the Christopher Esber show at Sydney Fashion Week. The show was held in an industrial warehouse giving it a different feel. The hair was simple, straight and shiny but with a difference. There was a bump of padding on the hairline to create an exaggerated hairline and a pop of shape and sculpture to fit in with the collection. Backstage was electric and high energy. With some models showing up late it put the team under pressure but added to an exciting day with great results.

Bond Hair Religion's Price Increase

As of Tuesday 2 April 2013 the price of cuts and blowdrys will increase.  As ever increasing costs continue to rise in a range of areas, this makes it a difficult but necessary decision. It has been over two years since our last increase in cut and blow dry prices. These new prices also accurately reflect the level of training and experience of our stylists. Thank you for your understanding.

Leslie Named Bond Hair Religion's Creative Director

This week Leslie was named Bond Hair Religion's creative director. He will be responsible for all of Bond's creative projects such as runway shows and photoshoots and predicting trends for the salon.
