Bond's Hair Expo Entry
On the weekend our senior stylist Leslie spent many hours cutting, colouring and styling 6 beautiful models for this years Hair Expo competition. He has entered in the New Creative Force category. Entrants have to display a creative flair and the power to influence others with their work. With a collection named "Imperfect Harmony" we saw bright bold colors mixed with soft pastel tones and strong bold cuts mixed with whimsical styles to create a harmony of well composed images. We wish Leslie good luck.
Introducing Our New Stylist - Robert
Robert is joining the talented team at Bond on Tuesday the 5th of February. Robert has 35 years experience in the hairdressing industry. Robert has owned 2 highly successful salons in Adelaide and has also worked in the award winning salon Oscar Oscar in Brisbane. Robert has also been a judge for many international hairdressing competitions. Bond is excited to have Robert join the team and we are looking forward to all our clients meeting Robert.
The New Artwork at Bond
In case you haven't yet noticed, Bond has a new addition to their amazing decor. Jen set out to add a bit of flair to Bond by adding a groovy piece of street art in the salon. The piece is located down towards the back of the salon leading onto the basin area. We chose this piece as we feel it is a reflection of beauty that we hope to give each of our clients through the hair that we do. The piece was done by a high school art teacher John "Voir" we think he did an amazing job. Check it out next time your in the salon.

Stylists at Bond are off to Tigi and Wella courses in mid February to participate in the latest colouring and cutting courses. Wella is set to launch their new Illumina colour range, a new luxury colour that gives shine like no other colour on the market.
Day one of the Tigi course sees the latest colour and cut collection created by some of the best hairdressers in the world. On Day 2 we are then recreating some of the collection on clients of our own. The stylist at Bond are looking forward to bringing our clients new styles with the techniques we have learnt.
Bond to Become Mentors for the Next Generation
The Australian Government have set up a new program called MAAP which stands for "Mentoring Australian Apprentices Program". Bond have been invited to be part of this program aimed at guiding apprentices through their apprenticeships and to try and reduce 'drop out' rates of apprentices. The main outcomes of the program is to help end the skills shortage within the industry. The program is aimed at apprentices coming from poor socio economic or difficult backgrounds, Aboriginal/Torres strait islanders and apprentices with disabilities. Bond is proud to be a part of this wonderful program and hopes to see more apprentices complete their training and continue with their profession.

Bond's 2013 Photo Shoot
In 2013, Bond Hair Religion is excited to be developing their newest collection showcasing the latest looks. We are in the early planning stages of the development but keep your eyes peeled. We will also be looking at getting this collection published in national and international publications. We will let you know how we go closer to the day.
Introducing SP Silver Shampoo
As a lot of our blonde clients might be aware using a silver shampoo can help counteract unwanted yellow tones in blonde and leave your blonde looking great. SP sliver shampoo has all the great features of most of the blonde shampoo's on the market but whats different about the SP brand is that it has a much stronger toner leaving your blonde cleaner for longer. It also has a strong anti-oxidant agent built into the shampoo to stop the hair from oxidising and helps to neutralise the hair follicle therefore making it more resistant to outside damage. All in all for a beautiful clean blonde use the superior product, SP silver shampoo.
Trend - Whimsical Styles
From the runway to the salon, whimsical softer looking styles are making a huge appearance. People are looking for looks with more movement and softness to create a soft natural look. Fashion and makeup are starting to go the same way. Clients are looking for a style that still makes them look gorgeous without making it look like much effort has been taken. Effortlessly beautiful look think Kate Moss.

Happy New Year
Bond would like to welcome everyone into the New Year. We hope everybody had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas and we can't wait to see everyone in the New Year.
A Big Year Ahead
2013 is set to be a big year at Bond with a few exciting things planned.
Training
It is set to be a big year for training at Bond with staff doing courses in all aspects of hairdressing including cutting, colouring and styling to increase knowledge and continue to be inspired to provide our clients with the latest and greatest in all things hairdressing. Bond will also be involved in a new government funded mentoring program that involves mentoring apprentices and helping them through their apprenticeship to decrease drop out rates. Leslie is also hoping to continue his teaching at Canberra Makeup Academy, teaching the hair component of the diploma of Makeup Artistry.
Awards
This year has started off well with the announcement that Leslie has become finalist in two categories in the Hotshots Competition held in Brisbane. Jen, Shaun and Leslie will be flying to Brisbane to attend the HairBiz Forum for the awards announcement and then the after party. Leslie is also entering this years Hair Expo Awards in the New Creative Force category with the shoot to take place at the end of this month so fingers crossed.
The entire Bond Team are heading to Phuket this year for a week of team building as well as recuperation in May. The salon will be closed from Sunday 12 May until Monday 20 May inclusive and we will be re-opening on Tuesday 21 May 2013. We will be opening extra hours in the week before our departure although we do encourage clients to make a booking as soon as possible so we can look after your hair care needs at that time.
Jen on Kokoda
In September Jen will be embarking on the very difficult Kokoda track. Jen is doing this for her father as he is too ill to achieve this by himself and also her grandfather who was shot on the Kokoda Trail in the Second World War. Jen is also hoping to raise money for a charity very close to her
heart, the Brave hearts Foundation, a charity that provides support of victims of sexual abuse and a very worthwhile charity. We will have more information on how to sponsor her closer to the time.
